Nicole C Melillo
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Nicole Melillo is an award-winning Filmmaker and Photographer. Her knowledge both on and off set has fueled her mission to create more accessible, in-depth experiences which aim to open discussions. She believes that film and television are not only art forms, but also strong mediums for positive change and connection.
Nicole seeks out and creates projects with this intention. In 2020 she founded Mouth of the Wolf Media - a production entity under which to produce these types of stories. Additionally, she creates as a creative activist under fiscal sponsorship from Creative Visions Foundation and serves as a board member for the Artemis Rising Foundation.
Her most recent film, "The Cab" won the Jury Award Best Short at the Bentonville Film Festival and has been deemed a "must-watch" for its fresh take on mental health and honest depiction of depression. Her previous short film, "MNSTR" (pronounced Monster) opened a conversation about anxiety, also garnering festival and awards recognition, including Best New Filmmaker at the Jersey Shore Film Festival.
A graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts, she has since worked on productions for companies such as Martin Scorsese's Sikelia, HBO, Marvel, Netflix, Disney, NBC, FX and Vogue. Additionally, Nicole works as a mentor to emerging filmmakers through her company and NYU’s mentorship program.
